Spring Fashion: Chilly Latin Holiday Class OOTD

Another outfit for a chilly spring day when I went to a Latin holiday class. It is again coordinated to be suitable for cooler weather but has spring pieces to it.

This outfit features a darker micro floral tank top from Dotti and this a great fashion piece that combines spring flowers but also darker colours so it's great as a transition piece. The black singlet underneath is from Cotton On. The colourful geometric necklace from Diva is my favourite piece from this outfit, it's so lovely and cute and it adds that spring element to the look. The striped jacket from Element helps the outfit to stay warm but isn't too thick. The outfit also has legging jeans from Gap and shoes from Novo. I love these shoes, they're so cute and different with the crochet pattern and leather in harmony together.

Spring Fashion: 1 top, 7 bottoms

For me and tons of other people in the world, spring is here! To celebrate this awesome warm weather, I'm going to do a Spring Fashion post and I have some more coming. Basically, the Spring Fashion themed posts will feature some of my favourite spring fashion outfits or pieces or ways to incorporate colour or flowers or any spring themed trend into your wardrobe, even if you're venturing out into colours for the first time or always wear floral pieces, I will try my best to show you how I would like to style the items.

This post is going to show you how to style a fun crop top to be worn with 7 different type of bottoms. This post incorporates more basic outfits for the beginners as well as fun colour on colour combos and also variations in shorts and pants for different weather conditions.

I'm going to show you how a top can be worn with matching colours/patterns for a cute ensemble but at the same time with pieces that work in harmony to create a balanced outfit.

The top that I am featuring is from Workshop in Top Shop and I bought it in Singapore. I love these kind of crop tops (but not too short, I don't want to bare all haha) because they're loose and comfortable, good for hot weather but they also cover your shoulders so they give more sun protection than tank tops.

But it is not easy to find a patterned/coloured top that matches with many different bottoms other than your basic blue denim jeans, my tips would be to find a top that has colours that match your patterned or coloured bottoms. For example this top has pink, purple and floral on it therefore it can match with green, purple, floral and your basic blue, and those are the coloured bottoms that I own. I also have black jeans but I feel that they're a bit too dark for spring and I personally don't really wear them anyway.

With Pastel Green Scallop Cut Shorts
This outfit is the top with pastel green scallop cut shorts. Apparently the scallop trend is in which I did not know about when I bought these shorts last year. The casual top balances the more dressy shorts from Ladakah

With White Micro-Floral Shorts
This outfit pairs the top with a pair of white shorts with blue micro flowers on them from Dotti. The reason these two patterns can be paired, despite being both flowers and can be dangerously too matching, is because the size of the flowers is balanced. The top features big flowers where as the shorts feature small micro flowers, in turn making the flowers not look over the top.

With Basic Blue Denim Shorts
And this is in my opinion the least ambitious pair of shorts to pair the top with. I feel that basic blue shorts are an outfit's best friend the same way jeans work, shorts are just better in the summer and an easy way to create a casual and comfortable look. The dark colour of the jeans also balances out the light pink but pairs nicely with the darker colours on the top. These denim shorts are from Witchery.

With Basic Light Blue Denim Shorts
This is the funner, lighter, I would say younger alternative to the basic denim shorts. They are more matching with the top yet the dark purple of the top contrasts nicely. I feel that the lighter coloured shorts are always more appropriate for those fun days at the beach. These shorts are from Rusty

With Lavender Jeans
Now moving into the jeans, this outfit shoes how the top can be paired with coloured jeans. These purple jeans are from Gap and it matches with the dark purple as well as the pastel pink in the top. The girly purple matches well with the girly colours in the top making this a pretty pastel coloured ensemble.

With Green Jeans
Another outfit with coloured jeans. The green colour is more contrasting to the colours in the top but it still goes well with the pink. I think the grey undertones of the jeans also balance out the girly colours in the top, making the look a tinsy bit more edgy and street as opposed to all girly. These green jeans are from Uniqlo.

With Basic Jeans
The last outfit is with the basic jeans. I'm actually wearing Jean Leggings from Gap in this outfit because I find them more comfortable but normal jeans work fine. This pretty much gives the same effect as the basic denim shorts outfit except it is more suitable for cooler weather. Again, the dark colours balance out the light pink as well as matching with the darker purple in the top and makes the outfit look casual and comfortable, nothing too out there.

I hope you found this somewhat helpful and/or interesting and tell me what you think of these Spring Fashion themed posts.

Fashion Haul

 Black skirt from Country Road
I'm going to be using this skirt from a big school production because I'm in the band and we have to wear all black but I'm definitely going to wear this skirt other times as well as I think that this skirt is so cute too!

Blue Scarf from Country Road
I don't usually wear scarfs that much but this one is just sooooo pretty! I absolutely love the colour and it's also linen so it's so nice to wear!

Black Always Skinny Jeans from Gap
I got these jeans also to wear in the band (we have A LOT of performances because there are three different campuses and each campus has two performances and then there are dress rehearsals as well. I also don't own a pair of black jeans so this will also be handy.

These heels are my LOOOOOVVVVEEE!
They are Michael Michael Kors and I bought them for my semi-formal but I wanted a pair that I could keep wearing after the semi-formal. I swear these shoes are soooo comfortable in my opinion (my mum can barely stand in them but I think it's way more comfortable than other heels). They also have grips on the bottom so that it's not slippery (unlike other heels that I have which makes them so hard to walk in).

And lastly I got these cute slippers from Gap that were on sale and are so comfortable!

Hope you guys liked that. Do you to know about my workout in a post or video?

May Favourites

May favourites time! Woooo!

Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner
I've never really been a big fan of liquid liner, I've always felt that it never looked the way I wanted to, but this month I thought I'd give it a few extra chances and I fell in love. I think liquid liner gives a really bold and 'let's get down to business' look but also is very classic and timeless. I think it just really pulls together a look.

Sephora 110 Foundation Brush (left)
I've always loved this foundation brush, it's not scratchy unlike the Sigma paddle shape foundation brush, but this month I've been really loving using this to apply my BB Cream. When I use this my face doesn't get dry in certain places by the end of the day and gives more coverage.

Sigma F84 Angled Top Kabuki Brush (right)
I've always loved this foundation brush too, but this month I've really been loving using this to apply my Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. It gives that same effects as I mentioned above.

Lucas' Papaw Ointment
I've always used this to remove little eye makeup mistakes but I've realised that it's also really helpful for my little dry patches that pop up after I put on makeup. You can also use this as a highlighter to add a subtle natural glow

Sigma Blending E25 Brush
I've noticed in pixi2woo's tutorials, that she often not only uses this brush for eye makeup, but also for blending concealer. I love it cuz the concealer blends so flawlessly, I use it with the Maybelline Fit Me concealer around the nose where I have redness.

Artiste Professional Manicare Pointed Eyeliner Brush
After also watching Lisa Eldridge's tutorials, she often uses a pointed eyeliner brush to apply concealer precisely on imperfections, so I've been really loving doing that.

Clarisonic Delicate Brush Head
It was time for me to change my brush head and they ran out of the sensitive brush head so I ended up buying this one. Turns out this brush head is actually more suited for acne prone skin, so it's more suitable for me. But about a week after I bought this I saw an ad in Teen Vogue for the new Clarisonic Brush Head that is for just acne prone skin, so I think I'll try that out when I have to change brush heads again or something.

Lush Aqua Mirabilis Body Butter
I ran out of my body scrub so I wanted to try a body butter from Lush because I thought the idea was really interesting. I absolutely love this body butter and I think I'm going to keep purchasing it when I'm finished. I love the nutty smell and my favourite part is that it doesn't leave an oily residue. It just really annoys me after I've used a scrub and I get out of the shower and my skin feels kinda slippery and that just makes me feel like I'm not fully clean, it's kinda weird.

Kit Cosmetics Body Wash in Fresh Pear, Crisp Apple & Vanilla
I bought this a while ago and I only got round to using this this month. It's just like a basic shower gel but I really love the smell. It's a very fresh smell and makes me feel clean. The only downside is that the smell isn't very predominant and fades after a while, I wish it would last a little more post shower.

Maybelline Lasting Drama Eye Studio Gel Liner in Eggplant Aubergine
I've been really loving using this liner because it's fun but is also more natural than black liner as it's a softer look. But I don't think it's as creamy as other gel liners although I still use it because I just love the colour so much!

Gap Legging Jeans
I've been absolutely obsessed with these legging jeans. They are just so incredibly comfortable but at the same time they are really flattering on me.

Country Road Sweater
This sweater/jumper has been my go to sweater this month, I've just been wearing it so much! I love the mixing of the textures. The front is wool but the arms and back are cotton, so it's not really itchy. It's also sooooo warm!

Gap Flats
These are probably the most comfortable flats I own, I love em! I've just been loving Gap and I went to Gap for the first time this month.

My Sweater Drawer!
I've been pulling this drawer out soooo much this month, especially as the weather gets colder. Sweaters/Jumpers are just so amazing because they're really warm and comfortable but can pull an outfit together really easily.

My iPad!
Absolutely obsessed with this! I use to be the biggest iPad skeptic because I thought "what does the iPad do that a computer/iPhone doesn't do?" The reason I really love the iPad is because it's looks so much better to surf the web on a bigger screen than an iPhone but it's much more portable than a laptop! I love taking this to lectures because it's soooooo light!

A blue throw!
Sorry I don't remember where I got this throw, I have so many throws but this is just the one that I've had over my quilt on my bed because it's just been getting sooooo cold!

I'm also going to do May Wants this month because they've been quite a few things that I've really been wanting so I'll put that post up really soon!

Haul - Lush, Gap, Clarisonic & etc

Lush Jumping Juniper Shampoo Bar. I've never tried this one before but I have tried 3 other Lush Shampoo Bars that I love so I thought I might give this one a try too, especially because I do have oily hair but I don't want something that will absolutely strip my hair and make it dry.

I got my Mum a Clarisonic Mia for Mother's Day and it came with a free gift and my Mum said she didn't need it so she'll give it to me haha. So it just came with a Clarisonic Makeup Bag and a Deep Pore Cleansing brush head.

Miss Shop White Singlet to wear underneath clothes.

Country Road Sweater. I absolutely love this jumper because the front is wool but the arms and back are cotton so it's not too itchy or anything and it just mixes the two different textures, I love it!

So I went to Gap for the first time and I absolutely love it! Their jeans are amazing and it's so comfortable and works really well!

They had these flats on sale at Gap and they're so comfortable! They fold and can be put in a cute little pouch that they came in so they're fantastic for travel as well or to throw in your handbag if you are wearing heels and want to have a break after or something.

These flats from Gap are the same concept as above.

These jeans from Gap are legging jeans and they are sooooo comfortable! They're also really warm for legging jeans which I love and they just look really flattering but are comfortable at the same time!

I also got from Gap a pair of coloured jeans, these are the skinny jean fit. I absolutely love the colour, it's a really nice pastel lavender colour. I also got a size up from what would fit my body in the most flattering way because they didn't have it in this colour and the other size, even though it was flattering on my body, it felt a little tight and I'm not a big fan of that, so this size looks fine on me and is still flattering but isn't that skinny fit.

Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner in Eggplant Aubergine. This colour is absolutely gorgeous, I looooove it! It's a really fun pop of colour but looks softer than basic black gel liner.

I freaked out when I discovered that T2 now have biscuits! I bought the Sencha Quince flavour and I love them! Honestly, they are quite expensive for only around 15 biscuits that have a diameter of around an inch/3-4 cm. But they do taste ahh-mazing and also has a really nice fresh after taste that I love. They taste quite buttery being shortbread but they're not mega sweet which I really like.

Lastly, I just got these new iPod speakers from Logitech because the speakers in my bathroom are starting to break as I've had those speakers for longer than 5 years.
