I probably shouldn’t even both with a June Favourites if we’re already halfway through July, but I had to because I had discovered soooo many new products that are fantastic and I want to show them to you.
Face:
Evian Facial Spray – I’ve loved this as a finishing spray, I don’t think this is made as a setting spray, but it’s really good for finishing, if that makes sense. It makes your makeup look more natural and just working together to look good. I think this would be better in summer because it’s really refreshing and makes you look quite fresh.
Benefit Sugarbomb – This is a super pretty shimmery blush and creates a really natural colour, warning that it is super shimmery.
NARS Orgasm blush – I have talked about this before but I’ve gotten back into it June, it’s just such a stunning everyday colour, although I do prefer it throughout the summer.
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in Nude – I really like this foundation, it gives good coverage and doesn’t feel too heavy. I love the texture, it feels soooo airy, like mousse that has been sitting out at room temperature and is about to be served.
I’ve heard many people say that it feels really heavy but that could happen if you use your fingers, but it gives a very nice flawless effect when I use the Sigma F80 flat top kabuki which is a SUPER dense brush. A stippling brush would also work.
My little pet peeve with this foundation in general is that the colour selection isn’t very good, this is actually the 2nd lightest shade when clearly it shouldn’t be, it actually is the same as my Chanel foundation which is actually the 3rd or 4th darkest shade, and all the darker shades have a sort of reddish undertone which I do not like.
But overall I love this foundation, although I like to actually wear it over my Chanel foundation but only on my nose and cheeks where I want a bit more coverage, and also I wouldn’t recommend this for people with dry skin.
Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer in Cream – This foundation has again the light airy mousse-like feel although this is a little thicker, like mousse fresh from the fridge. I like this for my blemishes, you could use it for under the eyes as well but the skin under my eyes kind of fold over because I’m Asian, and the mousse leaves a sort of powdery feel. I just wish there was a better selection of colours again, it was between Ivory, Fair or Cream so I got Cream.
MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush – I love this for a highlighter. Often many highlighters are super shimmery and so I don’t want shimmery pimples, so I like Cream Colour Bases because they give more of a glow effect. If you have more pale skin though I would recommend Pearl.
Urban Decay NAKED Palette - I was soooo lucky to have finally gotten this. I checked the British beauty.com website everyday for a month and it finally came back in stock. There is a reason this palette is soooo sought after, because it is just frigging awesome! It is so versatile and you can make a bajillion looks with this, so I've just been experimenting tons and doing tutorials and it's just so fun to use!
Covergirl LashBlast Volume in Black Brown - I've shown this before but this month I definitely discovered the best in this mascara. I use to say that I loved it, yadayada, but now I really love the effect that this mascara gives. It builds such an amazing volumised look and it is now my no. 1 favourite mascara so far!
Maybelline Full N' Soft - I rediscovered this mascara, it's one of my top mascaras. This is actually an expired mascara, and I know that I shouldn't use it but I wanted to go through my old mascaras and rediscover some and I've just loved the effect it's given, it's exactly what I want. It gives awesome volume and full lashes whilst being natural and not over the top.
Maybelline Lasting Drama Eye Studio Gel Liner in Black - I looove this gel liner and I just really like the formula.
Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara - This makes my lashes really long and volumised and it has an awesome wand.
Lips:
Stila Lipglaze in Grapefruit (top)/Stila Lipglaze in Kitten (bottom) w/ Benefit Posietint - I've been loving this combination, it's super cute. For a more natural look I use the Grapefruit lip glaze and Kitten for a nighttime look. And also, Kitten smells AMAZING! It smells like freshly baked chocolate chip cookies!
Korres Lip Butter in Quince - This is my favourite lip product so far, it has a gorgeous natural tint that really compliments my lip and skin colour. I also love the smell, consistency and that it still has a conditioning.
Nars lip gloss in Sweet Revenge - This is my favourite lip gloss, I've already talked about it before but I've come back to loving it more this month, it just has the most amazing not sticky formula.
Bourjois Sweet Kiss Naturel lip stick in Rose Tendre w/ MAC Surf Baby lip glass in Strange Potion - This is a super fun Summer lip colour, just nice coral colours.
Hair:
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Fresh - This is really great for just getting all that extra oil from my hair, I use this on second day hair and it has a nice refreshing smell. My pet peeve with this is that it leaves a white finish on my hair, and especially because my hair is black, I really have to brush it through, and then it gets on my brush GRR. But I like that it's cheap although I should really try and Invisible Dry Shampoo.
BaByliss PRO Argan Oil - I've been switching between shampoos recently to deal with my dandruff, I even tried a salon recommended shampoo and it DID NOT work, even after a couple weeks of using it, so I just use this oil to keep my hair still shiny.
Tools:
Sigma Dry N' Shape - This is awesome for quickly drying my brushes and I also really like how it reshapes my brushes, that's my favourite part of this tool.
Sigma Cleansing & Polishing Tool - I have really been liking this, it's definitely made my skin feel really smooth and I've definitely noticed that my pimples have come and left faster than before. Although even though the soft brush head is for daily cleansing/sensitive skin, I feel that it still is a little harsh for the skin.
Sigma Flat Top Kabuki in F80 (left) - This is the most amazing foundation brush ever, it just gives the most flawless look. And it is just sooooo dense, look at it compared above with a usual stippling brush.
Manicare Stippling Brush (right) - I've shown this before as well but I've been liking this for blush.
Ardell Heated Eyelash Curler - This is just an amazing eyelash curler. It doesn't hurt, I thought it would but it even hurts less than my old Manicare eyelash curler which often tugged at my eyelashes. This also gives an amazing curl. All you need to do is hold it up and wait till the red groove goes clear and then it's heated. It also is no was as expensive as I expected, I saw it in a video and thought it was easily $30 but it was only around $10 at Priceline, STEAL!
Skin:
Dettol Sapoderm - I use this soap on my body and it helps with pimples I have on my back/shoulders, etc.
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Concentrated Cream - This is a super thick cream that is best used for knees, elbows, hands and feet. I wouldn't recommend this all over the body because it's too much and the smell is just WAY too overwhelming, trust me, other people have actually told me before.
Rexona Girl Tropical Energy Deodorant - This is kind of weird to talk about but I've finally found a deodorant with a smell that I can deal with. I'm pretty flexible with fragrances etc but I can't stand the typical deodorant scent.
Lucas' Papaw Ointment - I've been using this clear balm with cotton tips to just get the fallout from eyeshadow that is under my eyes.
Soap & Glory Hand Food Hand Cream - This is possibly the greatest hand cream ever. I've tried Clinique, Jurlique just to name a few, but this trumps them. It isn't greasy or super thick but it is soooo hydrating. And I am definitely one with dry hands, mine are dryer than my Dad's and he calls them monkey hands haha. This also has a really nice smell which apparently is like the Miss Dior Cheri so I need to get that perfume haha. And it wasn't as expensive as I expected, the full size was around $11 from Kit Cosmetics at Myer.
Clinique Dramatically Differernt Moisturising Lotion - I usually have Oily Combination skin but throughout the winter my skin becomes Dry Combination, so I've been using this moisturiser which I depotted into a Lush Joy of Jelly container because I only had 3 samples, I've never bought the full size.
Fragrance:
Harajuku Lovers Music Snow Bunnies Limited Edition - I've really been loving this perfume, also because it's winter. It has floral notes but they're quite sweet at the same time. It just reminds me of how a ski lodge smells with sweet scents but still nice floral notes that I actually didn't think to be floral.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh - I got a free sample of this and it is amazing! It's one of my all time favourite perfumes and I like it better than the Eau de Parfum which I have. It's soooo fun and fresh and I love it! It also smells a little like bananas, hehe. I'm definitely buying the full size soon.
Clothing:
Wedges/Clogs from Novo (I know this is another summery item but they're just soooo cute and comfortable) |
Boots from Rubi Shoes |
Floral skirts w/ denim jacket (such a summer outfit but I pair it with tanned tights to make it winter friendly) Also my Blazer from Bardot but I don't have a picture :( |
