First Impressions: Glossy Box December

Hi everyone!
I did a video for my Glossy Box December First Impressions, but in this video, I am not showing myself, I am only showing the products.
Tell me if you prefer this, or you hate it, or you want a mixture. You don't have to be wishy washy or try to seem nice, because if you hate it, just tell me, it's cool. (:
Also, I'm going to Shanghai and Hong Kong today so I will be unable to post for the next few weeks. Sorry about that guys.
Also, unfortunately Twitter is blocked in China, so I won't be able to update you guys :(
But I might take a couple snaps from my phone and quickly upload them.
Although, when I'm in Hong Kong, I will be back on Twitter so you can check there for frequent updates.
Bye!

Top 11 of 2011 TAG

This tag was created by http://youtube.com/user/sweetbeautyx and it looked like a really interesting tag to do. I know I've done a couple of tags recently but they're are just so many awesome ones out right now!

So all you have to do is name products for the following categories:
2 face
2 eyes
2 lips
2 nails
2 hair
1 palette
= 11 FAVORITES OF 2011

2 Face
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Medium Dark
I actually got this product in January 2011 and it's the first MAC product I've ever bought. This is just such a fantastic setting powder that has a nice sheen to it, so it gives a bit of a glow but it's not too much. It's also really sheer so you don't need to change shades throughout the year if you get tanner or paler. It's just such an amazing product to set your foundation and/or concealer.
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation in B40 Beige-Desert
You have probably heard me rave about this foundation soooooo much! It's just soooo amazing! It's feels incredibly light, but it has awesome coverage. It's also water based so you don't have to worry if you have oily skin. It is probably light to medium coverage but this is the perfect like-your-skin-but-better foundation. I've worn this foundation and my Mum didn't even notice I was wearing foundation, she just thought my skin was really good. This is just a bloody awesome everyday natural foundation.

2 Eyes
MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study
I have definitely showed this before and used it many times. I use this as a base for almost every single eye look and I love it! It's awesome to wear alone for some eye brightening for school or as a base to brighten any look. I just love it so much!
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
Being as this year I was first new to makeup, this product was a dream! I couldn't believe that makeup actually had a product that would work like this! This is the only primer I've tried that keeps my shadows staying strong and not creasing for up to 7 hours, and I even have oily eyelids. Wonder product!

2 Lip
NARS Lipgloss in Sweet Revenge
I got this also in January, so I've loved it for the entire year. Such a gorgeous natural lipgloss that is not sticky at all!
Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Petal
This is my all time favourite lipstick. It's my current my-lip-colour-but-better lipstick with a bit of a pearly finish. I love to wear both of these together and even though I've bought some pretty amazing tinted lip balms or lip butters or whatever this year, these two together have definitely been my most worn lip look.

2 Nails
Okay first, I know it says two, and there are three in the picture, but I HAD to include the last polish, I just could not leave it out, but I will talk about them in order of favourites.
OPI Mermaid's Tears from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection
This polish has become my new favourite nail polish, knocking out the 2nd polish I'm going to mention. It is just my favourite colour in general! I love minty greens but it also is a sea foam green. So beautiful and this is my go-to nail colour.
Revlon Tropicana
I've had this polish for a while and I've always loved this. Unlike the OPI polish though, this is my go-to polish for my fingernails AND toenails (usually I like to have certain colours on my toenails that are different to on my fingernails). Also, not only is it an orange, but in certain lighting it look red and even pink!
Bonus: Essie Buy Me A Cameo
Such a beautiful neutral colour. This is like the Naked Lunch of nail polishes. Often on the holidays, I feel like I should wear polish because I don't want them to go to waste, but sometimes I'm not in the mood for a bright green or orange, so I just wear this polish. It's such a beautiful neutral, I can't stop staring at how silky it looks!

2 Hair
Lush Seanik Shampoo Bar
This has seriously sparked my love for my hair this year. It has made my hair so soft and shiny that I ended up growing my hair out. It's now so long! It's down to my lower back now! This has just made my hair feel seriously great and I'm already using my second bar.
VS Sassoon Wave Magic
This curling iron is my favourite and the only heat tool I ever use on my hair. It has an oval barrel, unlike the usual circle, so it creates really nice and natural waves. I look the way it looks and adds a bit of natural volume. It doesn't look so done up like a usual curling iron, which I like. I've seriously been obsessed with using this and it heats up so fast, in approx 30 seconds even, and it takes me less that 10 minutes to do all my hair. Such a brilliant tool and I have seriously fallen in love with it.

1 Palette
Okay, first let me say that I seriously was so close to saying the Urban Decay Naked palette, but honestly even though there are double the amount of shadows in that one, I actually used the below palette SOOO much more this year! But I still have to give a memorable mention to that palette because it's truly brilliam!
Personalised MAC Palette (Using Z Palette large in Leopard)
The shadows are from left to right: Brule (Satin), Naked Lunch (Frost), All That Glitters (Veluxe Pearl), Wedge (Matte), Satin Taupe (Frost), Swiss Chocolate (Matte)
With the exception of Swiss Chocolate (sorry mate!), I used all the shadows in here SOOOOOOO much! They are just create really natural but gorgeous looks, but often I paired these shadows with shadows from the UD Naked Palette. Anyway, I'm really excited to add more to my collection.

I hope you enjoyed this tag, and I tag ALL of you! I always want to tag all of you, I don't really want to tag individual people because I personally feel that it will exclude anyone else who wants to do it.
Anyway, stay happy everyone!

Holly Jolly Holiday TAG

So this Tag was started on YouTube by:
http://www.youtube.com/beautybaby44
http://www.youtube.com/user/strawberryelectric48

And Christmas is my favourite holiday so I just had to do this tag!

QUESTIONS:
Favorite Christmas Movie?

Grinch and Eloise at Christmastime

Are you on the Naughty list or the Nice list?

Probably nice list haha

Show us an embarrassing Christmas Card photo! (WE KNOW YOU HAVE ONE OK)

I actually don't have any christmas card photos, our family doesn't send out christmas cards that have photos of us.

Have you ever had a White Christmas?

I have never had a White Christmas, I'm usually travelling during Christmas to the Northern Hemisphere but on Christmas Day exactly I haven't had snow. But I have had a White New Years and a general White Holiday.

Where do you usually spend your holiday?
Overseas, this year I will spend Christmas in Shanghai with my family friends. In the previous years I've had Christmas at New Zealand, Dubai, America, California Disneyland, and China.

Play or Sing your favorite Christmas Song!
I was actually gonna play my favourite Christmas Songs but my video camera is playing up and I didn't want to use my computer camera because the sound usually isn't that fantastic.
But my favourite Christmas song of all time is Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, it's the only Christmas song that I've known all the words to since I was little. And the other songs are from the Michael Buble Christmas album and my favourites are All I Want For Christmas Is You, It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas, Jingle Bells, Holly Jolly Christmas, Santa Baby, Christmas (Baby Please Come Home), Blue Christmas, Cold December Night, lol that's almost the entire album.

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

Nope, I usually actually get my presents a week or earlier before Christmas because I'm usually travelling.

Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
No, but I only know the ones in Rudolf the Red nose Reindeer, so Rudolf, Donner, Dasher, Cupid, Vixen and Blitzen.

What holiday tradition are you looking forward to most this year?

I don't actually have any holiday traditions. Sometimes we put up the Christmas tree even if we're travelling but this year we're not. But I love decorating my room with Christmas stuff and tinsel! And I love listening to all the Christmas songs, that's basically my tradition.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Fake

Hands down, what's your all-time favorite holiday food and holiday sweet treat?

I don't usually have a proper Christmas dinner so I don't have a favourite food, but my favourite holiday sweet treats are candy canes and gingerbread, but I still have gingerbread when it's not Christmas.

Be Honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?

I like giving gifts, I just think it's really fun to try and figure out and plan what to get.

Show us your tackiest Christmas attire (ex: Ugly Sweater)

I don't actually have any Christmas themed clothes haha.

What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

My dream place would be Canada or Switzerland, basically anywhere that has a gorgeous Ski Village.

Does your family have a special holiday recipe you like to help make?

Nope, because we don't have proper Christmas meals.

Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

I'm not bad, it really depends on the shape of the present. I use to be really bad but I'm getting better.

Most memorable Holiday moment?

I don't have a specific one, but when I was younger, about 9 or 10, I went to New Zealand for the holidays and we had a Christmas feast at the hotel's buffet. And for many years I have gone to the same hotel in southern China and they seriously go all out on the Christmas decorations. There is a legit three story high Christmas tree when you walk straight into the lobby.

What made you realize the truth about Santa?

I think kind of common sense. But my parents didn't really push the idea of Santa too much. My mum use to let me write a list of what I wanted from Santa and then she bought it. And I kind of always knew Santa wasn't real and kind of just a legend, so when I received the present, I actually said thankyou Mum and she didn't change my thinking or anything.

Do you make New Years Resolutions? Do you stick to them?

I use to not but in 2010 I made New Years Resolutions that weren't very strict and were general lifestyle changes for 2011, and I actually did stick to them and it definitely made my 2011 pretty awesome!

What makes the Holidays special for you?

I think it's a perfect time to reflect on the past year and think about how to approach the new year. That's actually what the holidays really mean to me. But I also love how, no matter what toils have happened, the holidays are really a time for people to set aside their differences and be happy together. I have actually lost someone important to me during the holidays, and instead of being majorly sad about it, our family reflects on the good times. Also all the Christmas decorations and music really brings cheer for me. I also love just taking a break, usually every year is pretty full on for me and I love taking a well deserved break from all the hard work and spend some quality time overseas with my Mum and Dad.

That is it! I tag ALL of you! Comment down below with your response or link your tag. You can do it as a post or if you wanna try something new, try doing a video! You could respond with a collage even if you wanted a fun holiday project.

Thanks for reading everyone,
Amy

NOTD 10.12.11

Essie Smooth Sailing
This was the nail polish that came in the Glossy Box and I love it! Such a gorgeous deep periwinkle blue colour. It also has beautiful iridescent blue shimmer which you can see in the nail polish bottle in the second picture.

Haul 9.12.11

This haul seriously lacks in beauty products, but I bought a few things that I'm seriously so excited about. Here we go:

Country Road Bag
First I finally got THE bag, I love this one soooo much more than the Wittner one I showed a couple months ago. It's the perfect shape for me, I love square bags because I personally find that they're more practically, e.g. I don't hit everyone in crowded stores lol. It also has a long strap and it has very soft and thin leather. The leather of the Wittner bag was really thick and therefore meant that it wasn't as roomy. This bag looks cute and small but it actually fits tons of stuff which is good. I love it so much!

Incase Laptop case
This is not beauty related, but I warned you, haha. I am actually seriously excited about this case, and my Mum was sooooo stoked when we were in the Apple store. It has so many brilliant features! It fits a 13' Macbook Pro snugly, it has awesome green fur lining inside. It also has handles that can be hidden inside the case, a big pocket on the back with velcro closure and on the front are two smaller pockets of zipper closure. I know it's not the most glamourous thing in the world, but it's light and extremely handy.

Zumba Wii Game w/ Zumba fitness belt
I get bored so easily, especially with exercising. At one time I was jogging, then cycling then these workouts on the iPhone, but then I remembered when I did Zumba at Relay for Life (a charity marathon I participated in with my school) and I thought it was sooooo much fun and an awesome way to exercise, so I thought I might try the Wii game, and I love it! It's so much fun!

MAC Brush Cleanser
Just stocking up because I've almost finished my 1st one.

Nivea Sun Protect lip balm
Nivea Pure & Natural, Milk & Honey lip balm
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes
Just stocking up on more necessities.

Pillow Pet Panda
I named it PandeeA, inspired by Luke & Ingrid from YouTube (lukeconard & missglamorazzi). It's a long story, but both of them and their other YouTube friends started getting into Pillow Pets in their vlogs. It's kind of an inside joke, but anyway, I already have a pillow pet that is a killer whale called Douglas. (:

T2
The Jug 1.2 Litre
Lemongrass & Ginger tea
Turkish Apple & Cinnamon
I've been getting into Iced Tea soooo much now! It's such a refreshing and yummy drink especially in the summer, and I know I'm going to get hooked, so I wanted to try making my own (:

Thanks so much for reading!
Stay happy everyone!

First Impressions: Glossy Box - November

So I subscribed to Glossy Box for the first time in November because I was so excited for Australia to release an idea similar to America's Birch Box.

Just in case you aren't familiar with the idea, Glossy Box is a monthly subscription, that automatically renews itself each month, so if you want to stop, you must cancel your subscription.

Anyway, every month you receive a box filled with five surprise luxury samples to try in the comfort of your home without the pressure of sales consultants. Glossy Box was originally started in the UK and Glossy Box Australia is its affiliate. America also has Birch Box and Eco Emi which both have already become really big companies. Australia now has a bunch of these beauty subscription companies but I liked Glossy Box the best because the brands were ones that I really liked.

So this is the box that actually got sent to me, which I think is seriously the cutest!

And inside there was this cute box that is actually really good quality.

And then when you take the lid off, there's some tissue paper, and a card that gives info about each of the products and the full size prices.

And then unwrapping the tissue paper, are the amazing products! There's also some 'noodle' paper stuffing. And it also came with some jelly beans to munch on.

My first award!

I got my first award! This is so exciting! I was actually awarded this back in early November, but I had just started the next academic year early because that's what our school does, it's kind of weird, but anyway, I started year 11, and it has been quite overwhelming, therefore why I haven't blogged for ages, but yeah, I usually try to put up at least one post every week, but I finished today, so I will try to do two posts per week on the holidays, except when I go travelling.

Okay, now that I've finished that brief ramble about my boring life, so back to this.

Thank-you a million times to http://mollyox.blogspot.com/ who awarded this to me, I really appreciate it! Molly is awesome and she's my blogging best friend from the UK, and we're directioners :D

Rules: Thank and link back the person who very kindly gave you the award.
Write seven rather random facts about yourself that people may not necessarily know.
Link and award 15 more bloggers, so that you can spread the blogging love!

I'm 80% sure I was awarded an award similar to this before, so this is probably not my first award lol, but I forgot to do it because I was so lazy to award 15 more bloggers, but I realised it doesn't matter whether they see it or not, because it's about acknowledging amazing bloggers, gosh I'm so stubborn haha.

Random facts:
1. Music means so much to me. People might know that I love music in general, and I know tons of people do, but when I'm playing the violin or guitar, I rarely think about anything else, and my violin and guitar are my babies. It actually pains me to think that they will be damaged or 'hurt' lol. And music has always been here for me.

2. I usually am not too interested in horoscopes because it's pretty inaccurate, but I've been reading ZodiacFacts on Twitter, and most of the Capricorn tweets are seriously spot on with my personality.

3. I'm usually quite shy and checked around strangers and acquaintances, but I am actually seriously LOUD and CRAZY! Which sometimes comes through in my videos, but I don't want to weird everyone out haha. I am actually only ever totally myself around my family and my best guy friend.

4. Skiing is my all time favourite sport. I play tennis & hockey too but skiing means so much to me. When I'm skiing, I feel like I'm flying, I have no stress, no worries, and it is the most amazing feeling ever. I love the sound of skis on fresh powder, I love the smell, I love the wind, I love it all. I actually was going to do snow sports for my school next year but I changed back out because I couldn't give up hockey and I think if I started doing competitive skiing, it would ruin the sport for me.

5. I have so many morals haha. Seriously planning on talking about them on my other blog. But I love philosophy and I have many of my own ideas.

6. I can't stand people who act fake.

7. I have inherited soooo many characteristics from my father. First in my appearance. Then in my personality. I'm hard working, ambitious, outspoken, opinionated, harsh but kind & caring at heart, don't take BS, strong, lame humour, brilliant multi taskers, don't give up, independent, but we are also extremely impatient, hot tempered, not understanding, too outspoken and often a bit overwhelming. lol.

15 blogs:
1. http://quirkyexplosion.blogspot.com/ LEXY! She's just so damn cute and funny and quirky and I love her so much! Her little anecdotes and musings are so much fun to read and her outfits are so unique and cute!

2. http://www.delightfully-tacky.com/ Elizabeth is gorgeous and her outfits are so put together! Her pictures are amazing and I just wanna use every single one for some tumblr post or something, I love em!

3. http://donnaromina.blogspot.com/ Donna has the most amazing outifts and she is just so beautiful! She is often featured on lookbook with many hypes and her blog is awesome too!

4. http://justzipped.blogspot.com/ Another fashion blog, Chelsea is seriously the cutest! Her outfits are quite casual but they're also mega chic!

5. http://prettypinklipss.blogspot.com/ Of course I had to mention Amy, she has recently changed blogs, but I discovered her in the early stages of my blog. I love all her posts and her pictures always have the best lighting, I swear, I want lighting like hers.

6. http://amarixe.com Allison is one of my favourite YouTube gurus but she is extremely active on her blog too which is awesome!

7. http://www.dulcecandy.com/ Another YouTuber who is extremely active on her blog. Her OOTD's are amazing and they're always so fun and glamourous!

8. http://fashionvibe-blog.blogspot.com/ Another one of my favourite fashion bloggers, I always look forward to Zina's posts, they're always on trend but also unique in some way.

9. http://fleurdeforce.blogspot.com/ ANOTHER YouTuber who also blogs alot, haha. Her blog posts are awesome, she has some really informative reviews too.

10. http://fusels.blogspot.com/ Isabela has a brilliant fashion & beauty blog! She does some awesome reviews but my favourites are definitely her wishlists.

11. http://look-flyingmonkeys.blogspot.com/ Leah has some awesome posts with tons and tons of beauty goss to be shared by everyone!

12. http://popblushing.blogspot.com/ A fellow Aussie blogger, yay! She has brilliant makeup knowledge, awesome FOTDs and makeup posts!

13. http://caityheartsfashion.blogspot.com/ I just discovered Caity when she followed me, and I love her blog! It's fun to read and it has a variety of posts about things that she hearts. (:

14. http://www.amyflyingakite.com/ Amy's blog is just an eruption of beauty. It's so cute and chic and her outfit's are stunning.

15. http://www.winksmilestyle.com/ Josie blogs a lot about fashion and always has something new to show.

Woo, finally, 15 done. That actually took a lot more time than I expected. I hope you guys  check out these amazing blogs and share the love :D
